POST IT is a task service websitet. The website will allow users to post about a task or service they would like completed such as purchasing old textbooks, advertise personal services or local business, getting food delivered, having a companion for a set amount of time to just be friendly or help with studying (etc.) and pet-sitting. Other uses for the platform would be to connect students with different skill sets, for example if somebody’s car battery died they could get on our service website and find somebody that has jumper cables or somebody that can jump their car for them if they are not mechanically inclined. The idea of the website is to connect students that have different skill sets and give them a way to get help with tasks for cheaper than calling a plumber, tow truck, electrician, ect. POST IT is the "Uber" of requesting assistance for daily tasks and needs. The website is marketed for college students and young adults living in busy work-environments, but it is applicable for anyone outside of that scope as well. Users can post and accept ads from other users, similar to the style of a Twitter or Venmo feed. It will be similar to the money exchange of Venmo except you will also be posting about the service you need (similar to how you would post a tweet) and others can claim it as well as advertise themselves as a helping hand (think of the the response threads you can do on Twitter). Picture an uber driver picking you up at the alert of your request, this is like that except someone is coming to meet your service needs. Users who are accepting tasks will also be able to negotiate the price with the buyer. If the item is the delivery of food the accepting user will charge a fee in addition to the price of the meal. Many students feel out of their comfort zones reaching out to meet people that are different than they are and they also have limited resources when it comes to different tasks and repairs on a college budget. This service will help mitigate those costs, help strengthen those connections, and also be a great way of paying it forward with students helping students. It also is a convenient way for local businesses or people of expertise in specific fields to advertise their own services and reach more audience. On Twitter, you can be verified and our app will be similar. For example, if someone is a licensed cosmetologist and does eyebrow waxing and nails from their apartment, they can be verified that they are in fact their own business with a legitimate certification and can have a profile on the website as well as users reviews (like on AirBnB). This allows for more trust and safety with certain services as well as helping these people expand their clientele or business services. Then in the end, our website can help students save money for getting certain services cheaper, which is a huge dealbreaker in this target market.
