College Pet Therapy Program

Grace Riely
My non-profit business idea involves screening dogs from overcrowded animal shelters for their temperament, provide them and student volunteers with simple training to ensure their safety and that of the students, and make the dogs available to interact with students in a variety of settings, in coordination with campus counseling services. Under the supervision of trained volunteers, dogs could be made available to interact with the general student population at routine times at specified campus locations and could meet by appointment in one-on-one sessions with students referred by campus counselors.
